More and more stars are rumored to be returning for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 3 from Tobey Maguire to Dane DeHaan. According to insider Daniel Richtman, both Willem Dafoe and Dane DeHaan are in talks to reprise their roles in the film.
Richtman revealed on his Patreon that he has heard the stars have had talks to appear in the film, but no word if they signed yet. As of now, the only other actors reportedly in talks to appear are Tobey Maguire and Emma Stone.
The film already boasts a stacked cast, including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Garfield, and Kirsten Dunst. Spider-Man 3 has been assembling stars from the previous two franchises, so it makes sense the studio would try to recruit Dafoe and DeHaan. The former was one of the most beloved villains of the original franchise starring as the Green Goblin himself Norman Osborn. While DeHaan provided his own take on Harry Osborn’s Hobgoblin, ultimately leading to the death of Stone’s Gwen Stacy.
For now, no official word has been given on this potential casting as the actors are still just In talks.
